“I’ve struggled to find a good 4” auger that will perform well in the clay, chalk, flint and gravel in Essex without wearing badly and stalling out. Marc put me onto the FENCEQUIP augers and Troy explained his design uses HARDOX steel for longer life and his own design head that’ll eat anything from clay to rock. I find the head takes a controlled bite preventing over digging and pulling itself off course and stops it stalling out trying to bite off more than the auger drive can power through, especially when hitting lumps of flint. It just keeps going at a consistent speed. Not cheap but when [other brands] lasts 4 months (and assuming you don’t bend the shaft in the meantime, something i’ve done and not likely with the solid shaft FENCEQUIP), it’s excellent value for money.”
